Supply chain certificates

All companies in Tarmeko Group use wood to a greater or lesser extent in their production. Tarmeko Spoon OÜ is the closest to the forest in the timber supply chain. Logs are needed for veneer production, which are purchased from local forest owners if possible. Sustainable forest management is valued, and wood covered with supply chain certificates is preferred to ensure this. With this, we also show our customers that the material we use comes from sustainably managed sources and is traceable and controllable.

Tarmeko Spoon has been FSC certified for more than ten years. A large part of Estonian forests is PEFC certified. In order to offer its customers the opportunity to choose between different certification schemes, Tarmeko Spoon OÜ also applied for a PEFC supply chain certificate.

According to the Estonian Forest Certification Council MTÜ (pefc.ee), the PEFC certification system is in use in 55 countries and 330 million ha of forests and 25,000 companies are covered by this certificate.
